Baker making Baker's pie

Founded by Yoshi over 10 years ago, Baker’s Diary has been a beloved spot in Avondale, Rosebank Road, offering top-quality artisan bread and pies to the community.



His first bite of a classic Kiwi mince & cheese pie sparked an interest. One small opportunity led to another — from learning pie-making in Dunedin to training at bakeries in Arrowtown and Queenstown. He learned by doing, side by side with bakers from all over the world.


To strengthen his foundation, he returned to Japan to study baking theory at the Japan Institute of Baking Technology. Then, back in Auckland, he worked at a traditional European bakery before eventually taking over the business — now known as Baker’s Diary.


Today, Baker’s Diary continues to bake artisanal bread and delicious pies, using time-tested methods and recipes. Every item reflects Yoshi’s dedication to providing the best baked goods for our community.
